Moon Bear
I'm obsessed with Moon Bears. And haiku. And Thurston Moore. I've also developed a taste for Japanese 60s-70s psychedelic rock. Fun fun fun. We celebrated Emily's 30th at Myrtle Beach at her friend Dottie's beach house. Dottie and Nataly were there, and we forced tons of seafood onto Emily. Meemaw loved the beach. She is like her old man. I may go back to school. It is possibly free. Can't beat that. Emily is enjoying her job and I am enjoying cooking and making big plans which probably will all fail and crumble. But it is fun to plan. We joined the YMCA. We haven't gone. Typical.

Emily's Birthday!
So we have had out first week here in Hartsville. It's been pretty nice. Emily is settling into her job and I'm slowly and lazily unpacking. I've been preparing some fun meals and just kind of tootling along, lazily unpacking. Before we moved I sold a lot of my instruments, so it is nice to kind of look over what I'm left with and appreciate it anew. We attended a nice faculty art show the other evening and had some nice snacks and some really good punch, which Emily tends to appreciate. Today our friend Nataly came down to stay the night with us and tomorrow we are going to Myrtle Beach. It is Emily's birthday weekend so we are celebrating it by staying (for free!) with some friends whose parents own a beach house. It is a nice place and I look forward to it. We will try and show Nataly a little of the town tomorrow. We tried to hit up Hartsville nightlife, but it all closed pretty early. One place we did manage to stop at was a cool little wine/beer boutique place called Vintage. It seemed like a cool place to hang, and had a great assortment of good looking drinks.

In Hartsville!
We made it! With amazing help from Mrs. Dottie, we finally got all of our stuff loaded and packed and made our way to SC. The house seems to be working out really nicely, and we have water, power and internet! Whoo hoo! We also have a new bed, which Emily, Weenie and Millie have all devoted themselves to studying in depth. It's been a hectic couple of days, but I think we are getting into a groove of sorts. Tomorrow we are hitting up a chili festival downtown and maybe even a pawn shop!

Bored on the Computer
I've been busy sticking stuff up on craigslist/amazon/ebay all day. It's really boring. And it makes me feel like I haven't done anything. Listening to old 80s badass mixtapes. Also, I hate Ibanez hollowbodies, epiphone hollowbodies, and sx/offbrand hollowbodies. Why don't I learn?

New Years!!!
What a great year! And 2014 has mucho good times planned too! We are getting stuff packed, scheduling trucks, making endless trips to Goodwill and the ABC store (for boxes). Emily, Nataly and I all went to the AWESOME Mantras new years eve show at the blind tiger. They are by far my favorite band and it was an amazing show. I've added my December 2013 reading list to this blog. I plan on bringing the yearly list back. There are tons of great shows in 2014 that we are already planning for, and I also plan on being all up in that open mic in Hartsville ;)
